Meet + Greet with Christina of Wheatpaste Art Collective

Christina Lutteroth of wheatpaste art collective

Coffee drinker, kitsch lover, and unicorn believer.

As one of the few actual homegrown San Diegans (hailing from Lakeside), this Otis College of Art and Design graduate dreams of becoming Frank Gehry’s muse. “He would build me a home and I would furnish it with rare mid-century modern furniture”. Sounds like an awesome dream!  Christina loves animals (her ultimate desire is for a pet squirrel) and as Creative Principal to Wheatpaste Art Collective, she is a design superstar and trendspotter diva. Find out more below!

Wheatpaste Art Collective: How long have you worked at Wheatpaste Art Collective and where have you worked before?
Christina Lutteroth: I have been at Wheatpaste Art Collective for almost a year. I have worked at a few branding agencies with great clients like Disney Consumer Products, Warner Bros., Mattel, Nissan, and Red Bull.

WP: Who are some of your favorite artists/illustrators?
CL: I love Mark Ryden, Camille Rose Garcia, and I have a pretty good sized collection of Shepard Fairey originals in my house. I am a total artophile! If my husband let me, I would buy art instead of food.

WP: What’s been your favorite project you’ve worked on at Wheatpaste?
CL: We designed and fabricated a very cool retail stand for Posters that Stick and Portal Wall Decals this year!

WP: Describe your ideal day weekend.
CL: I would watch every documentary on Netflix & HBO Go, drink a tub of coffee, eat an In-N-Out Burger, then attend a very cool lowbrow art show and have some delicious beer.

WP: Describe yourself in 5 words.
CL: Silly, Curious, Friendly, Eclectic, Creative

WP: What’s your star sign?
CL: Gemini – I have a secret twin. 😉

WP: Do you have a favorite quote?
CL: “A camel is a horse designed by committee”

WP: What haven’t you done that you want to do?
CL: Wear matching unicorn costumes to Comic-Con with my Wheatpaste partner-in-crime Beth! (You can actually check out our ninja skills at this year’s Comic-Con here!)
