Roman Klonek pays homage to Soviet-era art patterns with his unique wall art collection, exclusive to Wheatpaste Art Collective.

Showcasing works of art by up-and-coming artists deserves a good canvas, don’t you think? We do, which is why our canvas wall art is priinted in our San Diego studios using the best digital reproduction methods around. Whatever you choose to order will be printed with awesome clarity and color resolution, then stretched -- by hand -- over a 1½” wood frame with a finished edge (so no framing is required). We also add a saw tooth for super-duper easy hanging. Plus, canvases are durable and can be cleaned with a soft cloth that’s dry or slightly damp. Oh, and each piece ships with the artist’s biography information on the back so you can always be prepared to answer when you hear, “OMG, I love that print! Who did it?!”

Roman Klonek, born in Kattowitz/Poland, has a soft spot for old-fashioned cartoons, especially Eastern European styles. In the 90s he studied Graphic Arts in Duesseldorf and discovered a passion for woodcut printing. He currently creates posters with a wide range of whimsical creatures, mostly half animal/half human, preferably in awkward situations. He describes his work as a bizarre balancing act between propaganda, folklore and pop. He works together with friends in a studio in Düsseldorf, Germany.
