Crocheting ain't just for grannies anymore! Artist Agata Oleksiak (aka Olek) has created an explosive world of color and knit, taking yarn bombing & knit graffiti to a whole new level. Sweaters for trees? Child's play. Olek eats, sleeps, and breathes yarn and her latest exhibition at the Christopher Henry Gallery in NY blows us away as she completely yarns-out an entire apartment, from leftovers in the fridge to picture frames.

She's one of the most dedicated yarn bombers, but certainly not the only! Yarn Bombing: The Art of Crochet and Knit Graffiti is a staple on any craftsters bookshelf, and mailbox sweaters can be spotted from Portland to London. No longer do inanimate objects need to suffer naked- there's plenty of able and willing artists armed with knitting needles keeping the world warm and pretty. Rogue knitters and yarn crews unite under a banner of beautification, and we for one think their mission to knit the world is rad. Check out more links on to find out how to get involved in your neighborhood!
