  • Men's Fashion - Jes Switaj

Is it just us, or is the internet geared completely to women?

Between Etsy, Pinterest and infinity cat websites, there’s just not a lot of dude love happening on teh interwebz. However, whenever we find something suited to that Y chromosome, we like to pass it along.  When we discovered Jes Switaj’s amazeball neckties, we knew we had to give her some love and thanks for finally bringing around some rad dude swag!

Jes’ ties rock a ton of sick graphics like skeletons, jellyfish, sharks, and bicycles, which means there’s definitely a tie for everyone. Plus, they’re screen-printed and heat-set on silk, so your ladyfriends out there are sure to be impressed with your fly accessorizing. If you crave just another bump up to eleven, she’s even got handmade bow ties available, in custom sizes and colors!

Make no mistake – Jes Switaj isn’t just another Brooklyn designer hawking goods on Etsy for outrageous prices. All her gear is legit, awesome-looking, and totally affordable. Ladies, grab your guys, and fellas, rejoice! There exists an Internet man store yet!

  • Record Store Day

Independent music lovers, unite! This Saturday marked the 5th Annual Record Store Day, which is (according to Wikipedia) the “most popular music holiday in the world”. Rad! It takes place each year on the third Saturday in April, and is observed not just in the USA, but in Canada, France, Germany, the UK, Japan, etc. with hundreds of domestic and global independent record stores participating.

Record Store Day kicked off in 2007 to celebrate the art of music, and in those days only around 10 special records were released for the holiday. Last year alone saw participation from over 600 artists ranging from the Beastie Boys to Deftones doing in-store showcases, along with hundreds of exclusive releases from Lady Gaga, the Decemberists, Pinback, and Adele just to name a few. It’s even recognized as a city-wide event in New York, and this year’s official ambassador is Iggy Pop!

No matter what corner of the earth you live in, Record Store Day is comin’ your way as it continues to promote independent record stores across the globe.  Be sure to peep their website to get updates on next year’s shenanigans and exclusive releases!
